Refined overwater chalets floating on the clear Celebes Sea, offering a quiet escape right above the reef.
Floating peacefully over a protected lagoon, Fairyland Resort is a quick boat journey from Semporna town in eastern Sabah. Authentic wooden chalets rest gracefully on stilts above calm waters. Wooden pathways link each structure together. They lead to personal viewing decks positioned just inches above the ocean surface.
Semporna is famous for its highly transparent waters. When the morning is quiet, the ocean appears entirely clear. It changes color as the daylight shifts. You can observe the ocean floor right from your private terrace. Step easily from your room into the warm water to explore the thriving coral reefs growing near the resort pillars.
This region features over 50 individual islands alongside the vast Tun Sakaran Marine Park. These coral ecosystems provide a home for sea turtles, numerous fish species and sharks that attract international diving enthusiasts. Staying here puts you right in the middle of this rich aquatic environment without sacrificing the refined comfort of a premium overwater destination.
Choose from three unique lodging styles. Every option provides a personal viewing platform alongside direct access to the water below. Authentic wooden pathways connect the entire property over the calm ocean.

The quiet ocean surrounding our property is perfect for paddling at your own pace. A short trip on the water takes you past stilted fishing communities, hidden mangrove routes and small empty beaches. Going out early in the morning provides a deeply calming start to the day.
Visiting the neighboring islands is a must when staying in Semporna. Daily boat tours will take you to Boheyan, Selakan and Sibuan. These locations feature bright sandy shores, excellent shallow reefs and sweeping views across the open water.

Sipadan is Malaysia's only true oceanic island. It frequently ranks among the best diving locations globally. Sabah Parks issues a strict limit of 120 visitor permits daily. Divers are allowed a maximum of three dives per day here. A standard trip includes guided visits to famous sites like Barracuda Point under the supervision of a certified dive professional.
Securing a permit here is often the main goal for experienced scuba enthusiasts visiting Sabah. The location features massive schools of bumphead parrotfish, resting green turtles and seasonal hammerhead sharks. Because permits are highly restricted, wait times can stretch for days. You must plan far ahead and secure your spot through an official operator.
If you want to travel further out, we can help connect you with extended liveaboard journeys. These multi-day trips head deep into the open ocean to visit isolated reef systems. You will spend your days diving remote atolls and your nights resting safely in quiet bays.
Every booking includes three daily buffet meals served in our central oceanfront dining room. Our menu highlights local Semporna catches alongside fresh market ingredients. We blend Sabahan, Malay and Chinese cooking styles for a varied dining experience.

The final meal of the day is our largest. You can enjoy braised dishes, grilled seafood, local Sabahan specialties and sweet desserts. We serve this meal as the sun goes down. This allows you to watch the final daylight fade across the ocean.
